Sangoma just released their new desktop softphone app, now called Sangoma Phone. It’s a game changer!
To install the new softphone, you might need to uninstall your old Switchvox softphone if you have a version less than 3.0.0 installed. I found on my machine that I had both the old version and new version, so go to Add/Remove Programs to search.
Go to https://support.digium.com/community/s/article/Using-the-Switchvox-Apps to download and install.
When the app starts, you’ll enter the Host, username, and password (your Windows AD credentials).
After you get the app installed, there’s a cool new feature that you can enable, Click to Call. This feature allows you to click a phone number on a web page or email signature and have it automatically dialed from your phone.
To setup Click to Call, click the Gear icon, then under Making Calls With, choose which phone you want the calls to go with (you can change it on demand, I’m working at home today, so I’m choosing my Softphone).
Then click the slider on Register as ‘tel:’ protocol handler to the right.
