Browser Choice and Your Personality

August 1st, 2012

There are lots of options for web browsers nowadays. Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and the well known Explorer are all viable options. But what exactly is it about a person that causes them to choose to use one over another. Does your choice in browsers say something about your identity? Blogthings.com thinks so.

Different Key Strokes for Different Folks

According to the article, if you are a Chrome user you are more willing to try new things. Even if these new things aren’t fully tested, you jump in with both feet.

If you use Firefox, grandchild of Netscape Navigator, Blogthings indicates you are untamed. Conversely, if you use Explorer you are down-to-earth and are not quick to make radical changes in your life. And what about Opera? Then you’re imaginative and flexible. It’s easy for you to think outside the box, according to the article.

Explorer Still Number One

Although many people use Chrome and Firefox, Explorer still reigns as the more popular. The site W3Counter says that Explorer holds a market share of 28.8 percent in the browser world. Second is Chrome, coming in with 26.4 percent. Firefox has 23.3 percent, and Safari 6.2 percent. Opera ranks fifth with a market share of just 2.3 percent.

Searching for the Right Browsers

People chose to use different browsers for a number of reasons and wondering what that says regarding your personality is intriguing. Ultimately though, we recommend you try a number of browsers instead of sticking with the one that came with your pc.  Workarounds for browser-application incompatibilities are also found by switching up your browser.  The best approach to selecting a browser is simply finding one which best suits your needs.
